Mario Brunello will give a cello Masterclass from 2 to 8 October 2023.
Società Amici della Musica “Guido Michelli” (Ancona) offers an extraordinary week of masterclasses with Mario Brunello, developed to create a new training experience.
Music comprehension, knowledge and study will be linked to otheractivities that will involve the cultural specifics of the area in thebmunicipality of San Ginesio, in the provinces of Macerata and Fermo in the Marche region.
Lessons will be based on three main ideas: Method to study, Form for interpretation and Nature to find inspiration.

TWO MASTERCLASSES
Two types of Masterclasses will be offered:
SPECIALIZED MASTERCLASS
3 cellists (or at the discretion of M. Brunello) will be selected and each one of them will have 3 one hour and a half lessons. A piano accompanist will be available.
Total fee, board and accommodation included (7 nights, double room) + Mario Brunello’s book “24 study days for cello”: 500 €.
Single room supplement: 70 € (to be specified during application)
GENERAL MASTERCLASS “9-99”
for all levels. Young and adult musicians, students, professionals and amateurs of all ages (from 9-99!), two short lessons.
Total fee, board and accommodation included (7 nights, double room) + Mario Brunello’s book “24 study days for cello”: 380 €.
Single room supplement: 70 € (to be specified during application).
CHAMBER MUSIC ENSEMBLE Chamber Music Ensemble lessons and method study “24 Days” for all general Masterclass participants (voluntarily) will be held by the cellist Sanne de Graaf, assistant and musical coordinator, on 3rd, 4-5-6th of October.
AUDITORS It is possible to participate as an auditor in the Masterclasses.
The number of auditors allowed will depend on the number of participants.
The cost is 30€ per day (+ an extra €20 for the day of the mountain hike)
The auditors may take part in the chamber music lessons.
Cost of the entire week including chamber music lessons is 220 €.
The costs of accommodation (with the possibility of enjoying meals at agreed prices) will be borne by the auditors.

WEDNESDAY 4 OCTOBER specialized Masterclass lessons and workshop regarding Form: visit to an artistic heritage site
THURSDAY 5 OCTOBER Workshop regarding Nature: guided walking tour in the Sibillini Mountains
FRIDAY 6 OCTOBER specialized Masterclass lessons
SATURDAY 7 OCTOBER General Masterclass lessons “9-99”
SUNDAY 8 OCTOBER departure
The chamber music lesson times on 3rd, 4, 5 and 6th of October will be arranged on the spot.
One of the students of the high specialization course, chosen by M° Brunello, will be given the opportunity to play a concert in the summer Season of the Amici della Musica, in Ancona, in 2024.

GENERAL INFORMATION
San Ginesio is situated in Monti Sibillini National Park, 700 metres above sea level, in front of the majestic mountain chain, in a very strategic area rich of cultural and natural tourism activities that was severely struck by the earthquake of 2016. San Ginesio has received the Orange Flag as one of the most beautiful villages of Italy, and in 2021 it received the award of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) of Best Tourism Village unique awarded in Italy.
Participants that will reach San Ginesio by car will use their own vehicles to take the trips during the week.
The most important requirement is an extra-musical interest for a 360° training experience.
ACCOMODATION AND ACCOMPANYING
Accomodiation arrangements for all participants will be communicated soon.
Guests travelling with the musicians must be reported. Each participant may be accompanied by one person.
For those accompanying there is the possibility to listen to the lessons and participate in the activities of all 6 days at a cost of 160.00 euros.

APPLICATION AND SELECTION FOR INDIVIDUAL LESSONS
The specialized Masterclass will be open to three applicants (at the discretion of M° Brunello).
Applicants must fill out the standard application (see link below), attaching the following documents:
• Short CV (max. 1 Word page)
• Copy of personal document
• Bank transfer receipt for the first instalment* (necessary to participate in the selection, see below)
• Link to a video file of one or more executions (max. 15 minutes, pieces at choice, except for J. S. Bach)
• List of pieces to be played during the Masterclass
The general Masterclass will be open to participants from “9 to 99”. Applicants must fill out the standard application (see link below), attaching the following documents:
• Short CV with short motivational letter (max. 1 Word page)
• Copy of personal document
• Bank transfer receipt for the first instalment** (necessary to participate in the selection, see below)
The fee for the two Masterclasses is different and must be paid in two instalments:
* Specialized Masterclass: payment of 30.00 € (non-refundable) upon application by bank transfer to Amici della Musica G. Michelli Ancona
** General Masterclass: payment of 20.00 € (non-refundable) upon application by bank transfer to Amici della Musica G. Michelli Ancona

The organizing body will contact the selected applicants and will further in-form them about the arrival and stay.
At the end of the Masterclass, participants who have followed the complete course will receive a certificate of participation.
The terms and conditions of these regulations are subject to change for imperative technical, artistic organizational, health reasons and/or for force majeure causes.
